AbdulGheni Efendi of Beirut

AbdulGheni Efendi is son of Omar Agha son of Mehmet Agha ... (here in red because of missing and burned records for the 17th Century, it is a guesstimate based on generation potential match but requires further research) ... son of Ahmet Bey? son of Suleyman Bey son of Hayrieh Hanim (wife of Ismail?), daughter of Sadik Bey, son of Abdi Pasha, son of Mehmed Bey, son of Banu Hanim, daughter of ... (or most likely son of Ibrahim III) ...son of Emir Piri Mehmet Pasha, son of Emir Halil, son of Emir Ibrahim, son of Emir Davud Son of Emir Ibrahim son of sheikh Ramadan son of Yuregir. There is a possibility that Abdulghani Efendi is a descendent of both Emir Piri Mehmet Pasha Ramazanoglu and his brother Emir Kupad Pasha Ramazanoglu.  The proposed Ramazanogullari Y-DNA Test Project is meant to provide a better proof.

Mehmet AbdulGheni Efendi Ramazanoglu - Beirut 1883 AD.

Abdulgheni Efendi Ramadan (Oglu) was a very wealthy business man who was the president of the commercial court of Beirut and had Nine sons and Six daughters.  His business quarters were located where today stands the Beirut Municipality building all the way to Fosh Street.

Abdulgheni's father Omer Aga was a member of the Beirut Shura Council (1830-1847?)

Two of his daughters raised three notable sons, Sheikh Nadim El-Jisr (First Lebanon Sunni Mufti),  and Lebanon's Prime Minister in 1972 Taqieddine Al-Solh.

His sons held high posts under the Ottomans from Daftardar to Mayor of Beirut to Directors of Hayfa, Saida, Beirut and Tripoli's sea ports.  His son Mahmoud is also one of the founders of Al-Maqassed in Beirut.
