Here is the translation of the Arabic text, as this section of the book talks about Beirut's Families for which The Ramadans (Ramazanogullari) were one of the most prominent:

Ramazanogullari

The sons of Ramadan established their government over the plains of Taurus mountains between minor Asia and Syria and lasted about 200 years from (780 h. - 1378 AD. tp 970 H. 1562 AD.) and this family was established as follows:

When Suleiman Shah, the grand father of Sultan Osman who established the Ottoman Khalifate, died drowned next to fort Jaabar, his children headed north and seven of his companions along with their families and all of them are from the Ucok Tribe, went and settled in Cukorova, and they are: Yuregir, Koson, Arsak, Kara Isa, Ozor, Kondoz, Kish Teymor.   Yuregir became their Chief, and he got form the Armenian King the rights to grease his heard in the plains surrounding Adana, Misis, and Tarsus.  Then this right transferred to his son Ramadan.

Ramadan and his tribe established mount Asarlik as the winter retreat for Koson and Mount Gulek as their summer retreat.

And they used to feed their heards at times in the valley and other times in the hills.   Kish Teymore used to spend the summer in Tarsus and the winter in Mount Belgar, while Kondoz used to spend it in the valleys of Misis and its mountains, but Ramadan and his tribe remained in the caves of Adana and its hills and valleys.  And thru this strategy, all the valleys became under their control.

At the time they did not have the power to capture cities controlled by the Armenians.  Then after 50 years, Davud from the Ozors worked to take over control, and requested support from Sheikh Ahmad the Memluk Sultan in Egypt, and he responded by sending him his soldiers and it became a Ramazanogullari Princedom with allegiance to the Memluk Sultan.  And Davud worked hard to make his cousins (Ramadans) to follow in his footsteps.

Then the sons of Kondoz left the Castle of Ayas to the Memluk Sultan soldiers and went to Egypt.  Then Ibrahim son of Ramadan requested support from the Egyptian Memluks and helped him capture Adana and Sis and later also Tarsus with the help of one of the sons of Kish Teymor.

And thru these means, Sheikh Ahmad was able to conquer and own six Castles from the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia without any mentionable losses.  These Castles are: Ayas, Gulek, Sis, Misis, Adana, and Tarsus.  Then soon after conquered numerous castles and it became a defensive front for the planes of Syria.

And this is how the Ramazanogullari were capable of establishing their princedom in their name all over those areas, and their Sultanship over it remained 2 centuries, from them 8 Princes for whom Historian Hazarfan only mentioned 4:

1. Ahmad son of Ramadan, was a Prince over Adana, Sis, Ayas, and Byas. 2. His son Prince Ibrahim Bey, 3. then followed by Prince Mahmoud Bey who made gave his allegiance to Ottoman Sultan Beyazid and accompanied Sultan Salim in his travels to conquer the Memluks in Egypr, and he was Martyred when in his company (in the battle of Ridaniey in 1517 AD.).  4. Emir Piri bey son of Emir Halil bey and is said to be the last of the Ramadan Princes.  And this dynasty came to a hauls in 970 h. 1562 AD.  and family members also remain throughout Aleppo, Adana, and the Anadol countries... from them new tribes were established such as Pehlevanogullari, Byat, Kacar, Recepogullari, Kocakli, Abali and Ordekli.

My Note: Recent historians added additional governors to the list and decided that the Ramadan rule ended in 1608 AD. with the last governor Pir Mansur Pasha.
